Helloo! good to hear from you :)
Its week 10 in NUS too, out of 13 weeks.
Are you coming back for the break?

I am not 20 yet! haha..
all you old people.

was just reading some of my past entries about Tung Ling and was just wondering how everybody else is doing. Yup, Christmas is coming soon! which means that the year is coming to an end again. The end of the year is always such a busy time! haha, but don't forget the true meaning of Christmas.

Yup, To all who are taking exams soon, study hard! :)

Counting down...

girls-aloud! how have you all been?

its week 10 (out of 12) for me... feeling the stress of assignments and the exams. time flies (even tho i'm not exactly having fun as of now). kinda bad cos really behind in my work, need the time to catch up. but i'm still glad that the days pass by fast cos i cant wait to get back to singapore. to all of us - stressed but highly blessed students, hang in there. christmas is coming :D

been 8 months since i left. i have really learnt a lot! i think i've grown in every aspect of my life. for those of you who have turned 20 (tho its just a no), what are some of the biggest lessons you've learnt? time for some reflection... heehee. i do that a lot cos there's 'more time' to do it when i'm not 'busy' with all the activities in singapore. think about it too :)

and for dear joan who will be turning 20 eventually, i hope that you will be able to say that you've been enriched by the people you meet and the activities you've participated in.

i miss TL!

Sending JJ off

Ok so I'm putting up this entry almost immediately after I have reached home from the airport. I figured that I'd better do it now while I feel like doing it before I start procrastinating and never get around to posting photos taken earlier tonight.

This is the small-ish eating area in the Budget Terminal. It's called Hanis, I think. We tried taking a group shot using my camera's timer, with the camera placed on the table directly next to ours. It turned out... like that, haha:Here are the group photos we took after we had our dinner and it was about time for JJ to go in to catch his flight, which was at 9:15pm.Before JJ went in, Nicolas said a short prayer for him on behalf of all of us. Then we said goodbye.

Yep, so here's a short update of what took place just now!:)

Let's say it was successful...

At our reunion dinner on Thursday 24th July 2008 at the Marché at Vivocity, I think 16 or 17 out of the whole class turned up, which was good enough for me because some people is always better than none!

It was a good time catching up with those there and to actually SEE each other again! I think we enjoyed the food, well at least no one complained about a wrong choice of location. We probably stayed till... 9plus? I can't really remember what time I got home.

Anyhow, these are the photos that I took with my camera. I think there are two more with Eric. Happy viewing!

holidays...

how's everyone this hol? heard that lynn ern (THE efficient :) ) is organizing a gathering at the end of this month. our second proper one since tungling! hope the turn out is good :) wont be able to go because i'm staying in melbourne for winter. going back to singapore during my summer break (dec). kind of bored these days cos friends have went back to their homelands...

some of the more exciting things i've done: went on a road trip to the suburbs. its really useful to be able to drive here. quite silly of me not to have brought my license over. haha. but then again, i'm not confident enough to drive around... other than that, i went for a Overseas Christian Fellowship camp and am going for another camp tmr. the camps here are so different from those i attended in singapore where the timetable is packed back-to-back with activities. besides the usual eating and sermon, most of the time is spent on chilling... do-whatever-you-want. me being a typical singaporean, am not used to not having anything to do. haha...

this is a foto of yurond and i. taken when yurong came to visit at the end of june. how cool that we got to meet up in a foreign land :)

someone, update soon!

TLBC Term 1, 2008 Graduation

Here are the photos we took at the graduation ceremony that took place on 27th March 2008!

It really was like mini reunion! It was wonderful getting to meet up face-to-face like that. I didn't really ACTUALLY talk or catch up with any one there, but it was just good seeing each other like that!

*Rachel: We really always seem to be the ones "bending down" a little when we take photos eh?;)
*Si Hua: (I'm still more used to calling you Si Hua actually, haha) Yes, haha, I rarely watch drama serials when I'm in Nottingham because the internet connection is really slow too! But, when I get SUPER desperate and I just want to reward myself at the end of the day, the moment I wake up, which is usually around 7am, I start streaming the videos and leave it on for the whole day until it's completely streamed. Then I watch the videos that I've streamed at the end of the night, just before I go to bed or something:D Anyhow, a word of advice to a fellow overseas uni student like you - it's good to always come back to Singapore when we have our term breaks, but at the same time, it's not very good to come back too often. I'm finding it more and more difficult to return to Nottingham after every break that I come back because I know I'm returning to a place where I'm "church-less" (in a sense), "family-less" and "good-friends-less", if you get what I mean:)

Photos, finally!

finally able to upload the photos! so here they are...
17th feb. it was good to see you people. dont think i'll be going back in june so the next time i can join you all for a gathering is dec.

i walk pass this on my way to school. my mode of transport here is either tram or walk.

there're cycling lanes around. this pic was taken outside school. many ppl own bikes. sometimes i see girls in skirts and dresses cycle!

looks like some scene from the movie
people lying around. its very common to see people sitting around on open spaces in school. like they're having picnics. guess cos the grass isnt wet like in singapore. Lynn Ern, is it like that in UK too?

been visiting a few churches the past few weeks. most of the churches here are anglican. so far, i quite like this small church called Life Expedition. its quite like my church Hinghwa. probably will go there.

Lynn Ern: good to hear from you. it's kind of strange that now that i'm overseas too. i feel the same about church too. it's diff now that i've just found a church. hoping to be able to serve as well. though it's kind of hard cos the environment is different. oh, i dont watch dramas anymore  :(  the internet is too slow and i'll surely exceed my qouta if i dld. haha

In Singapore for Easter Break

Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd update as well since I read Lynette's blog. Are pple still reading this blog regularly to begin with?!

Anyhow, I'm on my 4-week long easter break now and it's really great to be back here in Singapore. I've been meeting up with friends, watching a lot of tv (esp drama serials), eating alot alot ALOT, and sleeping quite a bit too (I think I haven't really gotten over the jetlag).

Life in Nottingham, UK has been as per normal. A little bit boring even. Having difficulty properly settling into a church there, am still praying very hard for God to send me friends to this church I've been attending rather regularly - it's called Christian Centre (aka T-Street). Also hoping that I'll be able to get involved in the church, because it feels so strange to be a "pew warmer", arriving in church for the service right on time and leaving immediately afterwards. Now that I'm back here in Singapore for my break, I really miss being an active member of the church, being involved in the activities and events of the church...

Oh well. Here's a short update!

*Lynette: HOW ARE YOU OVER THERE! Made alot of new friends? Found a church to settle in? Are you staying in school accommodation or something? Must tell me how overseas life is treating you! Maybe I can give you some tips;)

Hello how is everybody? :)

anyway here is an excerpt from the lent devotion on 15th March.

'Prayer is suffering's best result. What prayer leads to is the hearing of the 'still, small voice' of God saying' Do not fear'. That in turn produces the declaration of trust: ' O Lord you took up my case; you redeemed my life.' It's a trust that turns its attention away from the self and the enemy to the object and outcome of faith. When God says " Do not fear", it is a prelude to Him acting. God is more than Jermiah's defender. The Lord is the Reedemer of his life. We too can have such a confidence when we cry to God from the pit.

yup, just an encouragement to continue to trust in God when things get tough.
Especially school now.. or studying in a foreign environment..
Okay, take care and God bless :D
